Finding the Land Registry Office, Real Estate Taxation Office and Israel Land Authority region by block number

Three government bodies are involved in a real estate transaction, each with its own geographical division: the Land Registry Office, the Real Estate Taxation Office and the Israel Land Authority. The tool on this page finds all three by block number, from each body's official sources.

The tool: search by block

Type the block number (gush), and if you wish also the parcel number (helka). No block number? You can search by address. The tool shows the locality where the block is located, the Land Registry Office, the Real Estate Taxation Office, the Israel Land Authority service region and the registered type of ownership. When you enter a parcel, its registered area, an approximate address and a link to its location on the map are also shown.

Search by block and parcelType the block number. The parcel is optional, and adds the type of ownership in the parcel.

No block number? , or .

Sources: the block layer of the Survey of Israel (assignment of the block to a locality), the find-a-registry-office-by-block service of the Land Registration and Settlement of Rights Authority, the assignment of localities to real estate taxation offices in the Israel Tax Authority's public reception system, the list of localities by ILA region, and the database of ownership types of properties registered in the land registers (data.gov.il). Address search: data © OpenStreetMap contributors. The data is retrieved from the sources at the time of the search or was updated from them on 14 October 2026. Assignments may change, so check with the body before applying.

The Land Registry Office: by block

The Land Registry Office (Tabu) registers the deed of sale, cautionary notes and mortgages. Each block is assigned to one registry office, and the assignment is determined by block, not by locality. So the tool queries the Ministry of Justice directly by block number, using the same service that appears on the website of the Land Registration and Settlement of Rights Authority. The block number can be found in the Land Registry extract, in the contract, or by address on the Survey of Israel website.

The Real Estate Taxation Office: by locality

The transaction is reported to the Israel Tax Authority, and the regional Real Estate Taxation Office handles the assessment and issues the tax certificates for registration. The Tax Authority assigns offices by the locality where the property is located. The tool finds the locality by block, and shows the office according to the Tax Authority's assignment. In a few localities, such as Tel Aviv-Yafo, the Tax Authority assigns two offices, and you then need to check with it which one handles the property. To calculate the taxes themselves: the purchase tax calculator and the betterment tax calculator.

The ILA service region: when the land is Israel Land

When the land is owned by the State, the Jewish National Fund or the Development Authority, it is managed by the Israel Land Authority, and the transfer of rights in the property also goes through it. The ILA divides localities between service regions, and the tool shows the region by locality. If you also enter a parcel, the tool will show the type of ownership registered in it, so you can see whether it is State land. On acquiring ownership of an apartment managed by the ILA: acquiring ownership from the Israel Land Authority.

Where the data comes from

  • Assignment of the block to a locality: the cadastral block layer of the Survey of Israel, queried at the time of the search.
  • Land Registry Office: the find a registry office by block service of the Land Registration and Settlement of Rights Authority, at the time of the search.
  • Real Estate Taxation Office: the assignment of each locality in the Israel Tax Authority's public reception system, as retrieved on 14 October 2026.
  • ILA region: the list of localities by ILA region, as retrieved on 14 October 2026.
  • Parcel and address: the parcel layer of the Survey of Israel (parcel number, registered area and location). Conversion between an address and a parcel is based on OpenStreetMap data and is an estimate only.
  • Type of ownership: the database "Type of ownership of properties registered in the land registers" on data.gov.il. According to the database itself, it does not establish any right.

Questions and answers

How do I find the block and parcel numbers?

In the Land Registry extract or in the purchase contract. You can also search by address with the tool on this page, but the result is an estimate only and should be checked in the Land Registry extract or on the Survey of Israel website.

Why is the registry office determined by block and the Real Estate Taxation Office by locality?

Each body sets its own division. The Ministry of Justice finds a registry office by block, and the Tax Authority assigns offices by locality. So the tool first finds the locality where the block is located, and only then the taxation office.

When is the ILA needed?

When the land is Israel Land, that is, owned by the State, the JNF or the Development Authority. If you also enter a parcel number, the tool will show the type of ownership registered in it.

Is the result binding?

No. The tool shows the information from the official sources, but assignments change from time to time. Before filing or a meeting, check with the body itself.
